I don't really talk about politics in my everyday conversation, but...
Obama postpones his appearance on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this past weekend.
"In light of the unfolding crisis in Texas, Senator Obama has decided it is no longer appropriate to appear on Saturday Night Live tomorrow evening," Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki explained in a statement issued late Friday night.
The next day, I was flipping channels at my brother's apartment in Brooklyn, and I saw John McCain at the opening ceremony of a NASCAR race that was going down in New Hampshire.
I'm just sayin'...

I hate talking politics too, but every now and then I get suckered in. ;)
So, let me ask this. How did Obama make any bit of difference to the hardest hit areas of Texas by not going on SNL? Did he head down there and take part in pulling survivors from the water? Did he take some of that 66 million he collected in July for campaign funds (that aren't enough of course) and give it to those in need in Texas? If Obama was President, then yes...skip SNL. Until then, the good Senator from Illinios isn't going to have any effect. No more than McCain at a Neckcar rally ERRRRRRRR race.
Obama did the same thing down South as McCain; not a damn thing, and I'm disappointed in that.
I'd type the same post if Obama attended SNL, and McCain skipped the NASCAR event. I'm not talking about fund-raising, nor what they stand on the issues...I'm just sick of seeing our "leaders" doing these zany things when something in our country is going down. Going to a NASCAR event, seems like something that could have been skipped.
There is no denial that I'm a supporter of Obama , but I'm also not preaching the fact that I am.
These so called leaders really don't give a rat's ass about the common yet good people of this country. If they did, we would not be in the situations we are in now. One politician is as crooked as the next no matter their race, party affiliation, voting record etc. Good politics piqued with the Eric B. for Pres. '08 campaign. He'd get my vote! ;)
You see now you force me to do a cheap plug.
